How do I control what information I collect?

Learn about adjusting general settings, Google tools, your main contact information, and required and custom fields.

General Settings

In your RapidLMS account, navigate to "Settings" in the Storefronts section of your account.

In the General tab, you can view and edit the storefront name, URL, language, and website description.

You can also add your GST/HST number along with Google tools like Analytics, Adsense or Tag Manager.

Enter your address, and main phone and email contacts in the Contact Information tab.

Required & Custom Fields

A basic RapidLMS account setting simply requires that users enter first and last name and a either phone or email as a contact method; often you may need more information for your learners, either for internal or regulatory records.

Email, Phone and Address Fields

In your RapidLMS account, navigate to "Settings" in the Storefronts section of your account.

In the General tab, you can choose whether both email and phone are required, whether to ask for an address and whether to require an address; these fields must be completed while creating a user account to proceed.

Adding Custom Fields

In your RapidLMS account, navigate to "Custom Fields" in the Storefronts section of your account.

Use the [+ New Custom Field] button to add a new field.

Choose from checkboxes, dates, dropdowns, emails, number or plaintext fields.

These fields will display when users are creating accounts and on the My Profile page.

More About Required Fields

Setting the field to required on signup will require that ALL users that access your storefront will be required to enter this information, including learners, training managers, instructors, and administrators.

If you add a new required field or set an existing field to required after a user has signed up already, they will be required to complete that field on their next log in and will not be able to proceed to their course until the requirements are met.

It is possible require custom fields on specific courses only, rather than for a storefront.

This process does require some development work, so please contact your Account or Customer Success Manager for more details.
